The unusual part

What this website will never tell you, and why

Most injury firm websites read the same because most of them are written to say the same four things. This one deliberately does not say them. Each omission below is a rule, not a style choice.

No dollar figures. You will not find a “millions recovered” banner here. Past results are not a forecast, they are read as one, and Florida requires that any reference to past results be objectively verifiable and accompanied by a plain statement that they do not guarantee a similar outcome. A number with no case behind it tells you nothing about yours.
No promises about outcomes. Nobody can honestly say what your case will be worth or that it will succeed. A lawyer who does is telling you something they cannot know.
No invented testimonials. The only reputation claim on this site is the Google rating, stated exactly as measured, with the date we read it. There are no anonymous quotes, because an anonymous quote is unverifiable by definition.
No stock photography. Every photograph on this site is either Chris Waggener himself or the building this office works from — never a stock image of someone else’s law firm, and never a generated one.

None of this means there is nothing behind the words. This office has settled cases and has tried cases to verdict. As those results are documented for this site they will be stated here the way Florida requires — actual outcomes of actual cases, with the plain reminder that prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome.

In August 2026, Chris was admitted as a life member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Membership cannot be applied for with a fee alone: admission requires documented proof of a verdict or settlement of at least $1 million — at least $2 million for the Multi-Million Dollar Forum.

Membership reflects past results. It does not predict or guarantee the outcome of any case.

How a case actually moves

The shape of it, without the theatrics

The first call. What happened, when, who was involved, what insurance exists on every side. Free, and it ends either with a plan or with an honest “this is not one for us.”
Preservation and investigation. Letters go out to stop video, vehicles and records from disappearing. Reports, photographs and witnesses are collected while they still exist.
Treatment. The medical picture has to be complete before anyone can value anything. This is usually the longest phase and the least satisfying, because nothing appears to be happening.
The demand. When the treatment picture is clear, the claim is presented to the insurer with the evidence behind it.
Suit, if it is needed. Filing starts a different process: discovery, depositions, retained witnesses, mediation. Most cases resolve somewhere in here. Some do not.
Trial. Being genuinely prepared to try a case is what gives every step before it weight.

How long any of this takes depends on the injuries, the insurer and the court’s calendar. Anyone offering you a timetable at the first call is guessing.

How the fee works

The first conversation is free. After that this office works on a contingency fee: an attorney’s fee is charged only out of a recovery, so if there is no recovery there is no attorney’s fee. Case costs and expenses are a separate thing from the fee — filing fees, records, retained witnesses and the like — and how those are handled is set out in the written fee agreement before you sign it. Ask about them on the first call; you should never have to guess.

Pinellas County is served by Florida’s Sixth Judicial Circuit, which covers Pinellas and Pasco. Civil claims up to $50,000 are heard in county court and larger claims in circuit court, with small claims covering disputes up to $8,000 (Fla. Stat. §34.01). A local practice means knowing the county’s rhythms: which intersections generate the calls, how the local insurers behave, and how long things really take here.
